Regional VS Online Qualifiers: What is The Difference?
Both Qualifiers have the same 5 rounds.
The Online Qualifiers are for individuals who are unable to join a Regional Qualifier because their school is not participating. So they are all played on an individual Personal Endeavour basis, remotely.
The Online Qualifier is for individuals who are unable to join a Regional Qualifier because their school is not participating. All rounds are played remotely and individually, as Personal Endeavour rounds.
Regional Qualifiers are for registrations through schools and take up a full day. Ask your teacher to get in touch with us! Individuals play 2 Personal Endeavour rounds alone: Classic and Duel. Teams of 3 play Crypto, Cycle and Lightning together, in either Synergy or Alliance teams. Synergy teams are from the same school, Alliance teams are from different schools. Each host organiser chooses which rounds are in which type of team.
Qualifier Rounds
Regional and Online Qualifiers both feature the same 5 rounds, with a few variations to suit each circumstance. Students will solve traditional problems in Classic and Cycle Solve, engage in strategic thinking and outwit opponents in Duel, decrypt logical statements in Crypto, and race to answer the most problems in Lightning.
What Comes Next?
Participants who have excelled in either the Regional or Online Qualifiers will receive Golden Tickets. These are invitations to a university-admission-style interview, which is the final step to progressing towards the Finals!
